Attention Parents of Incoming 7th Grade Boy Athlete’s
Time to start preparing for the 2016 Football season as well as other sports is upon us. In order for us to have a timely start to next season there are a few things that need to be addressed so that we have a timely start to the football season.
Physical
Your son/daughter must have a physical on file in order to play sports at Moorhead. It is imperative that they complete it and turn it in by the end of their sixth grade year. This confirms to us their intent to play football next season. If they have their physical on file for football then they will be placed in the athletic period for next year. A copy of the physical form can be downloaded from this website.
Remind
Remind 101 is a texting service and the primary way that I communicate with you for everything relating to athletics. The instructions for enrolling are available on this website and are very easy to follow. I will start notifications on upcoming events and information in April 20116 so please make this a priority and get enrolled.
Equipment Issue
Proper fitting of items like helmets and shoulder pads take time and for them to protect properly it very critical that it is done correctly. Equipment issue will be on Wednesday August 8, 2018 from 5:30pm - 8:00 pm incoming 7th grade players. This will be held in the athletic department here at Moorhead Jr. High. If your child has a physical on file then they may come up and get a locker assigned and their equipment issued to them. If they have had their physical over the summer, bring the completed physical form and we will be able to issue them equipment. ** We will not be issuing any equipment to anyone that does not have a physical**
Parent Meeting We will have a parent meeting on Tuesday August 21, 2018 in the Main gym from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. We will discuss the athletic program and the upcoming football season along with discussing the other sports that we offer at Moorhead Jr. High School. First Day of Practice
The first day of practice will be Tuesday, August 16th . Practices will start before school at 7:30 and run thru the end of 1st period. On the first day of practice, your child is responsible to provide the following:
1. one pair of football cleats 2. body wash or soap 3. White Bath Towell 4. $20 dollar athletic fee 5. Signed and returned copy of Athlete’s Code of Conduct 6. If your child has orthodontic issues, he/she will be required to provide their own mouth-guard.
